Meet the Expert: Dr. Laura Coll Planas
Dr. Laura Coll Planas is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) in Spain. Her work is rooted in intervention studies for older people, based on a PhD thesis focused entirely on loneliness, social support, and social participation.
As the leader of Work Package 4 (WP4) for the RECETAS project, Dr. Coll Planas coordinates the testing of the “Friends in Nature” intervention across its international locations and leads the clinical trial in Barcelona. Her expertise lies in developing supportive, evidence-based groups that truly help older adults build peer networks and engage with their communities.
